U4GM Arc Raiders Bird City Trial Route Guide

Bird City is one of the best examples of Arc Raiders rewarding movement over raw firepower. The Loot Bird's Nests Trial turns Buried City rooftops into a timed routing puzzle: you need 17 successful searches for 3,060 points, while the same run can feed ARC score and ordinary ARC Raiders Items into your extraction plan. The trap is treating every chimney as a separate loot stop. Bird City works only when you build a connected roof chain and keep moving after each interaction.

Start With the Roof, Not the Nest

Old Town is a strong opening area because its rooftops offer short climbs, visible chimneys, interior cut-throughs, and multiple ways to break line of sight. Spawn nearby, reach elevation quickly, then search in batches rather than sprinting across Buried City for a supposedly perfect cluster. Six searches clear the first Trial milestone, twelve reach the second, and seventeen push past 3,000 points.

Climb through stairs, an interior route, a Snap Hook, or a placed zipline.
Search the interaction, not just the loot you expect to find.
Mark an attic, ledge, stairwell, or zipline before crossing an exposed roof.
After 17 searches, decide if leaderboard points justify more risk.

The Route Is the Build

Your loadout should solve movement problems first. Adrenaline Shots help maintain speed across long roof chains, while healing and shield supplies cover the damage that slips through during aerial pressure. A Snap Hook rescues a run after a forced drop, and personal ziplines connect gaps that the map condition doesn't cover. Photoelectric Cloak is especially useful for crossing an open roof or escaping a fight you never needed to take.

Keep one weapon setup for the actual route instead of packing answers for every possible encounter. A heavy-ammo weapon gives you an option against flyers and supports ARC scoring, but don't let ammunition hunger turn a nest run into a full-clear attempt. A Hatch Key can also make the exit near Old Town much less awkward. From what I've seen, the strongest inventory is the one that preserves choices without filling every slot with niche gear.

Birds Give Away More Than Position

Birds are an information tool as much as a visual effect. A sudden burst ahead can signal another Raider moving through your intended roof chain; a flock behind you often means someone has entered the route you just left. Don't freeze beside a chimney trying to identify every sound. Peek across the next roof, use cover, and keep a retreat ready before you start the interaction.

Flying ARC units create the same decision test. Wasps, Hornets, Fireflies, and Snitches can block a crossing, interrupt a search, or expose your position, but distant targets aren't automatically worth ammunition. Remove the machine that prevents progress, then leave. The Anvil generally fits this tempo better against small flyers because it can require fewer accurate shots than the Patina, while the Patina's sustained pressure helps when several targets stack up.

Pick Targets by Points Per Minute

Large machines look attractive on the Trial tracker, yet a long duel can wreck the rooftop loop. Five Hornets or Fireflies at roughly 140 points each approach the value of one Rocketeer or Leaper at about 770 points, with less time spent exposed if the smaller targets are already near your path. This is not a universal DPS rule; it depends on aim, cover, ammunition, and other Raiders. The practical question is simple: can you finish the target quickly and still reach the next chimney?

Route Best Use Main Problem
Bird City, Buried City Nest searches and steady flyer score Crowded rooftops and repeated aerial pressure
Stella Montis night raid Shredder-focused ARC scoring Contested rooms and a tense extraction

My Rule for the Last Five Minutes

Extraction should shape the route before the Trial is complete. Move toward your chosen exit while searching, rather than finishing at the far end of Buried City and dropping into a dangerous street crossing. On Stella Montis, start checking your distance with five minutes left, or earlier if closed sections and enemy pressure have pushed you away from safety. A great score that stays on the map isn't a great run.

The Bird City Mindset

Bird City rewards discipline more than greed. Search 17 nests, take only the fights that protect your line, and treat every roof as part of a route rather than a room to hold. If Buried City becomes too crowded, Stella Montis offers a different scoring plan around Shredders, thrusters, and repeatable room loops. The best runs come from matching your target choice to your time, ammo, and exit-not from forcing a flashy fight for extra ARC Items for sale value that you may never extract.

Bird City runs are smoother when you stay on the rooftops, search 17 nests for 3,060 Trial points, and only fight flyers blocking your route.
