Diablo 4 Season 15 is expected around 15 September 2026, and the climb to Torment 12 may feel very different from the current season. The 3.2.0 PTR points towards a tighter, more deliberate endgame, where smart gearing matters more than simply chasing higher item power. You will soon notice that a well-chosen Charm can save a gear slot, while carefully prepared D4 items can make the early Torment push much less painful. Two systems deserve attention straight away: Corrupted Roots for materials and the Cube route for a crafted Mythic.

Build Your First Power Spike Around Crafting

The Horadric Cube will let you turn a regular Unique into a Mythic version. That item receives a crafted tag, and your character can equip only one crafted Mythic. Do not throw away Unique drops with three or four Greater Affixes. Keep them, even when the base item is not part of your current build. A strong base can become the piece that carries your setup through difficult content.

Corrupted Roots should sit near the top of your weekly farming list. Tree of Whispers caches can contain these level 73 consumables. Plant one in a combat zone and an Exposed Root will draw in waves of enemies. The rewards include Volatile Primordial Dust, Forgotten Souls and chances at the Kullean Tuning Prism. The Prism adds a random Legendary Aspect to an amulet without removing its ability to be modified. Scosglen Helltides are especially useful when Forgotten Souls are your main target.

Resistances Now Shape Your Gear Choices

Charms are becoming far more important. Their Greater Affix resistance values may rise from roughly 787 to more than 3,000. That is a huge defensive gain, and it can be more useful than a small skill-rank increase. A Charm with resistance and two Hellfire skill ranks may outperform one with three skill ranks, especially when your build is missing a key element. Soul Splinters replace regular jewellery gems and bring powerful effects, but each one also creates resistance gaps. Leoric's Crown increases the power of socketed gems or Splinters by 75 to 100 percent, making it a serious option for specialised setups.

Spend War Plans With a Purpose

Do not spread War Plan points everywhere during the opening weeks. A simple route works well.

Put three early points into Fortune or Famine for better Tree caches.
Use Branching Pathways and Fearless Conviction in Nightmare Dungeons.
Take Bursting Brood in Helltides for boss trophies from Maggots.
Choose Jade Epiphany for experience in the Kurast Undercity.
Use Choron's Blessing, Choron's Haste and Heart of Stone when pushing The Pit.

Level Quickly, Then Prepare for Torment

At level 70, Baleful Chests in PvP zones can provide item power 850 gear, giving fresh characters the boost needed for Torment 1. From there, focus on Paragon 125 to 130 so you can open five boards and activate their Legendary nodes. Helltide Maggots, Writhe and Rot, and Jade Epiphany are strong experience options. Save rare Runes only when you need them; five matching Runes can be combined into a random Legendary Rune such as Eom. With sensible upgrades and a little patience, D4 items buy options can help fill a missing slot while your own farming route catches up.
