The Retro World Series Program in MLB The Show 26 is easy to misread as a card grind, but its real bottleneck is splitting 50 points across two kinds of tasks. If you are planning broader roster needs with MLB 26 stubs, keep that separate from this route: program points come from Moments and team PXP missions. Decide how much time you have, then pick the task that fits your next session.

Use the Moments as a 30-Point Anchor

The ten Moments are the most predictable block: each is worth three points, so finishing all ten secures 30 points before team PXP counts. They are a useful starting point if your lineup does not yet cover the required franchises or you want progress that does not depend on building around specific team cards.

Don't leave every Moment until the end just because you can work on missions first. Read each prompt carefully, focus on its stated result, and avoid turning a narrow objective into a full-game performance challenge. If retries are taking too long, pause and return later rather than spending your whole session on one attempt.

Plan Around the Four Team PXP Targets

The missions provide the remaining 20 points, with five points each for 270 Yankees PXP, 110 Cardinals PXP, 2,026 Rays PXP, and 2,026 Brewers PXP. The Yankees and Cardinals totals are smaller pickups; the much larger Rays and Brewers requirements deserve more attention when you plan your lineup.

Check each card's eligibility in the mission tracker before starting a game. A player's real-world franchise affiliation does not by itself confirm that a specific card qualifies. If your eligible collection includes both Rays and Brewers, use them together only in a mode that counts both missions.

Rotate Cards as Objectives Finish

Start with the eligible cards you already own instead of rebuilding your lineup for one target at a time. Yankees and Cardinals players can cover their smaller totals, while Rays and Brewers cards can stay in the lineup for the larger PXP goals. Once a team's mission is complete, replace those players if another target still needs progress.

Check your other active objectives before each game. When they reward the same eligible players or activities, combining them can save a separate session. But don't force a weak lineup just to stack tasks: a setup that makes it harder to finish games can cost more time than the overlap saves.

Set Checkpoints Without Stopping Short

Reward thresholds give you useful stopping points, but they can make the final stretch look smaller than it is. Brooks Robinson unlocks at 10 points, Tom Glavine at 20, Bob Gibson at 30, and a Deluxe Choice Pack at 40. David Ortiz requires all 50 points, so reaching the pack does not complete the program.

The rewards suit different roster needs: Robinson emphasizes defense, Glavine offers a finesse pitching profile, Gibson brings a power-pitching option, and Ortiz is geared toward offense. Compare their attributes and positions with your current starters before making a change. If Ortiz is your goal, plan to complete the full track rather than treating the 40-point reward as the finish.

Next time you open the program, verify your eligible cards, choose a Moment session or a PXP game based on the time you have, and check the tracker afterward. Keep MLB stubs in mind for broader roster planning, but focus this run on the program's 30 Moment points and 20 mission points. Replace completed team cards and return to any remaining Moments before you call the track finished.

Ten Moments supply 30 points; the remaining 20 come from team PXP missions, including 2,026 PXP each for the Rays and Brewers.
