So I finally bit the bullet and got my 2018 L405 back from the shop after a two-stage paint correction and ceramic coating, and honestly, I’m still in that phase where I keep finding excuses to walk out to the garage just to stare at it. I’ve been driving Range Rovers for about a decade now, and this is the first time I’ve actually invested in proper paintwork rather than just relying on the dealer’s so-called “premium” wash and wax packages. The deeper I got into researching what actually goes into making these huge SUVs look showroom-fresh, the more I realized that the swirl marks and light scratches I’d been ignoring were basically a permanent part of the clear coat. Anyway, the detailer I ended up going with really knew his way around the soft paint these things have, and he walked me through the whole process – from the decontamination stage all the way to the final inspection under those crazy bright LED lights. What surprised me most wasn’t just the gloss level, which is insane by the way, but how much of a difference the little details made, like the way the light now reflects off the door shuts and those tricky plastic trim pieces around the wheel arches. I know a lot of owners in the UAE worry about the sand and the heat ruining the finish within weeks, but I’ve been told that if the prep work is solid and the coating is applied correctly, maintenance becomes way more manageable. If you’re still on the fence about whether it’s worth the money, I’d say just go for it, especially if you plan on keeping the car for a few more years. I actually stumbled across this place while looking up Certified Range Rover detailing and finishing in ICAD, and it turned out to be one of those rare cases where the reality actually matched the hype. Fingers crossed the coating holds up through the summer, but so far, I’m kicking myself for not doing this sooner.
