Check engine light came on, truck feels fine, should I worry?

So yesterday my 2018 Canyon's check engine light popped up on the dash out of nowhere, and of course it happened right when I was in the middle of a drive back from Ruwais with no warning signs at all, no rough idle, no loss of power, no strange noises, the truck was driving completely normally like nothing was wrong. I've got one of those basic OBD code readers at home so I plugged it in and got a code for something related to the evap system, which from what I read online could be anything from a loose gas cap to a faulty purge valve, but honestly I have no idea how serious this is or if I should be rushing to get it fixed right away. I've been burned before by ignoring a check engine light that turned out to be a minor issue, but I've also wasted money taking a car in for a light that ended up being nothing more than a sensor glitch that cleared itself. I'm thinking I should take it somewhere that actually does thorough diagnostics rather than just clearing the code and sending me on my way, and I've heard there's Trusted GMC service and diagnostics in Musaffah Industrial that a few people have mentioned in other threads. What I really need is a place that can tell me exactly what's going on, whether it's something I need to address immediately or if it can wait until my next scheduled service, because I don't want to overreact but I also don't want to be stuck on the side of the road if this turns out to be something more serious. Has anyone else had a similar evap code on their Canyon or Colorado and can tell me what the actual fix ended up being, and whether it was expensive or just a simple replacement?
